Alex Yevstifeev is a Queenstown based saxophonist from the United States. He grew up in New York and played in local jazz big bands and combos before attending the Eastman School of Music for classical training. With over 15 years’ experience as a musician, Alex is familiar with a wide range of styles from classical to bop swing, and is familiar with improvisation and sight reading. He currently plays with several local groups including the Queenstown Jazz Orchestra, Alchemy and Corazon Latino. Alex frequently performs local gigs in Queenstown and Arrowtown, and has appeared in the All-Star Band at the Christchurch Big Band Festival. He plays soprano, alto and baritone saxophones, so whatever your style, you can book Alex for your next event.
