Currently Andy Pulzar is a resident DJ for Amazonita & Chiwahwah on the Terrace, and has previously held residencies with Mashina Lounge, Iconic, Topkapi/Chic, The Print Room, Saints Bar, Malbas, Liquidity, Taxi Club, Base Nightclub, Azure, The Loaded Hog, Smile Clubbing NZ, The Church and Trinity nightclub. Recent career highlights include opening for Six60 (NYE2016), playing in Hagley Park with the CCC (NYE2017), supporting Sneaky Sound System in concert twice and supporting Andy Hunter in front of 15,000 in 2003. During a four year excursion across the ditch in Sydney after the quakes, Andy developed an excellent reputation as an incredibly versatile DJ, with regular gigs at the Bristol Arms Retro Hotel, the Mean Fiddler, Quakers Inn, Lowenbrau, Hard Rock Café, Margaritaville, Scruffy Murphy’s and many more. Internationally he’s performed as far afield as Smile in London at the Chunnel Club and Buzz in Chicago.
Primarily known for playing classic club tunes, house, funk, electro house, bounce and uplifting trance, with many years of DJing for corporate & private functions he is also able to spin RnB, commercial tunes, top 40, classic retro anthems or whatever else is required. With a massive music collection and awesome musical knowledge, Andy can play to any crowd. Plus, after adding Video to his repertoire, he can provide a full video mix with music clips and visual FX being streamed live during his set. In October 1999 with a business partner, Andy started Pulzar FM, Christchurch’s home of dance music, broadcasting on 93.3fm across Christchurch 24/7.
