Meet Matteo Coletta, aka Teo: a passionate performer who draws inspiration from his Italian heritage. From early beginnings as a drummer and percussionist, he is now a captivating and highly sought after DJ based in Queenstown, New Zealand. Creating immersive sonic experiences at ‘WellSpace’ in Queenstown introduced his warmth and creativity to many… and he never looked back. His talent is showcased throughout New Zealand; with performances at NZ Spirit, Dimension Festival and Burning Horse – joining other international artists on the line up. He has opened for Electric Rush, and regularly partakes in events promoted by NZ Ski, including performances at Coronet Peak and Cardrona during the winter season. As a resident DJ in Queenstown, his curated taste adds value to the Queenstown night life – he can be seen at World Bar, Bardeaux, Bunker, Yonder, and 1876… all while consistently performing at venues, weddings, corporate events, and lively birthday celebrations. He is also represented by booking agency DJ4You. His sound has been featured at Ayrburn, and Sundays, further enriching the local music scene. An ANZ conference added the Hilton Group to his resume, and collaboration with local saxophonist Saxylady, now brings a unique combination of DJ and live instruments to corporate and public events. Upcoming performances include the Winter Pride Festival, and others to be confirmed. His goal is to create unforgettable musical experiences for his audience; achieved by empathising with the crowd and playing what feels right in the moment. His sets are rarely prepared, but his talent is employed seamlessly: navigating between genres to create an atmosphere that deeply resonates with listeners. While not performing, Teo lends his skill as a representative of Apple for the Queenstown area where his fastidiousness and perfection as an Apple-certified technician and consultant is often not seen, but is surely felt by customers from all over the world. He is among the most qualified and competent in the industry, overlapping – and intersecting with – both technology and art.
