Sam Coulthard is a good old fashioned Kiwi, born and raised and has experience across all genres of music and types of functions from around New Zealand. Sam is known for great song selection and crowd reading. Sam can cater to any type of crowd or age group.
We booked DJ4U for our wedding in Wanaka. We had an initial meeting with their team in Auckland, which discussed all options, and ensuring they understood our special day. We received an online music form for all our song requests, and also the songs to play during the reception (entrance songs, first dance etc.). We asked each guest to submit a song that would make them dance, and I submitted all 90 of them into the form!
On the day, our DJ was Sam. He showed up nice and early, was extremely friendly, and very accommodating! He absolutely nailed our entrances, and our first dance song. The background music during dinner was well suited also. Once the dancefloor kicked off, Sam keep us and our guests entertained all night! We think he got through most of the mountain of guest requests that we gave him, as well as putting his own songs in the mix – largely a good mix of modern and old school mainstream music, which our guests loved. Our dancefloor was well packed for the entire night.
In the encore song, our MC pulled Sam into the crowd to have a dance also – he took in good stride and humour, and it summed up a great night! Overall, we definitely would recommend DJ4U and Sam! Very professional service and also very good value.
Sam, our DJ, did a really great job keeping the party alive! Everyone was enjoying and we can also tell that Sam was in his element the whole time! He can read the crowd well and can shift from one music to another depending on what he thinks the crowd wants! We booked Sam through DJ4you for our wedding in Queenstown. From the planning stages, they provided a clear indication of what services they provided, as well as what they expected from us in terms of song choices and genre. Their online submission form was easy to follow, and we were able to easily qualify specific details about the songs through contact.
We were put in contact with Sam about a week before the wedding. He was very patient and understanding of all our requests (we had a mixed Western-Sri Lankan ceremony) and took the time and effort to understand our needs.
Everything went absolutely perfectly on the day. Sam was well prepared with printouts of our documents and timeline, and played all our planned event songs at the perfect time. We left him the freedom to DJ the dancing part of the night, and we are delighted to say that he kept the dance floor full for most of the night.
